Myrtle Elizabeth Warren, or Moaning Myrtle, is a funny ghost who haunts the girl's bathroom in Gryffindor Tower.

She's one of few ghost characters to appear in the Harry Potter books written by J.K. Rowling, which was later made in a film series by Warner Bros. Myrtle was a Muggle-born witch who studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1940-1943 and was a member of house Ravenclaw.

She rarely smiled and took huge offense at even the smallest insult. When offended, she lets out a piercing shriek, earning her the moniker Moaning Myrtle. A Basilisk killed her.

She used to haunt and terrify Olive, who bullied her while alive. This led the Ministry of Magic to forbid Myrtle from leaving the Hogwarts School.

She is often seen suddenly breaking down into tears. As a ghost, Myrtle sarcastically begs everyone to throw books at her for a reward of ten points. Myrtle is well-acquainted with Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy and even welcomed Harry to share her toilet after his demise.

Read these quotes by the famous ghost character from the Harry Potter series who often bursts into sudden tears.
