Young fans of animal stories will love these free printable bear footprint coloring pages. One such story is the story of ‘Little Hiawatha’ which revolves around an Indian boy named Hiawatha.

Hiawatha wanted to become a hunter until one day when he was out on a hunt. With a bow and arrow, Hiawatha tried to catch a rabbit, but the rabbit was fast and hid in his hole.

When the rabbit was teasing him, he cornered it and was about to shoot but could not when he saw the rabbit crying. He then decided to give up on being a hunter; wanting to explore and look for more animals, he followed the footprints of a baby bear.

The baby bear, scared of him, led him straight to his dark cave and got little Hiawatha chased away by the mother bear.

He climbed a tree, and the mother bear closely followed him. And later, in the end, he was saved by a deer who carried him in a harness made by squirrels.

The story revolves around the friendship of Hiawatha and the animals on his island. This helpful sheet can be used to help kids with their coloring skills.
