The Chihuahua dog breed is renowned for its tiny size, larger than life personality, and various coat colors and types.

The Chihuahua dog is the smallest dog breed to exist, named after the Mexican state of Chihuahua, where it was first seen in the mid-nineteenth century. It is believed to have been derived from Techichi, a tiny dog breed of Mexico’s Toltec people in the ninth century A.D.

Male Chihuahuas as well as female Chihuahuas are well suited to apartment living because of their small size. A Chihuahua, whether puppy or adult, requires very little grooming and exercise, making them a good choice for a busy family.

They can weigh between one and six pounds and stand at between six and nine inches tall. Despite their small size, they have quite a sturdy build and are extremely agile and alert.
