Newfypoos are a first-generation designer dog that is a large-sized mixed breed of the elegant Poodle and the sweet Newfoundland dog breeds. This mixed breed can have many names such as Newfydoodle, Newfoundland-Poodle mix, Newfoundlandoodle, Newfidoo, Poodoundland, and Newdle, however, their official name is Newfypoo!

These crossbreeds are unpredictable in terms of which parent breeds they will favor genetically, but in most cases, these purebred dogs' offspring grow up to be highly intelligent, friendly, and gentle dogs.

This designer dog varies in appearance, similar to other crossbred dogs, as some are large and heavy and some are slim and light. A Newfypoo dog requires extensive grooming every day as its oily thick curly coat can get dirty and tangled easily.

These dog breeds are not yet recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC), as they often do not recognize hybrid dogs.

This even might be a difference that can be seen amongst littermates. Due to this, there is no set standard for this breed, as is the common nature of a designer dog.

Despite their low shedding wavy coat, the grooming process for these dogs can be a little challenging due to their water-repellant, thick, oily, and curly coat. Newfypoos have water repellant natural oils in their coat which protects them, and bathing them too often may clean out this protective oil. The Newfypoo coat should be combed regularly.

Once a month, they need to be professionally bathed and blown out. As their long wavy coat keeps growing and becomes a nuisance for the dog, it needs to be trimmed every three to four months.

Newfypoos have a calm temperament and are excellent with young children. They can easily grow fond of the child in a house, and can be described as a gentle giant!

One major problem with Newfypoos is separation anxiety. They require companions throughout the day as this dog does not like to stay alone in houses.
