Mountain Cur originated in the mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee. The word 'cur' refers to an unknown breed but it's used as a treeing dog.

They are an all-American pioneer purebred dog native to the southern mountains. Mountain Curs were beneficial to the native residents of the area since they worked to protect livestock, family members as well as monitor intruders, and stray animals from interfering with their activities.

They were declared a national breed in 1957 by the Original Mountain Cur Breeders of America (OMCBA).

They are active beings who need enough space for moving around and working. They can be stubborn initially and can be monitored through training to suit becoming the perfect pet dog.

If you wish to adopt them as a pet they cost approximately $300-$500. Since Cur loves to be outside, they are prone to injuries and health issues both external and internal and so, Mountain Curs ideally needed regular examinations, as well as visits to the veterinarian (this is excluded from their original cost).

Mountain Cur mix too are hunting dogs. There are various variants of Camus Cur, Canadian Cur, Catahoula leopard dog, Kemmer stock Mountain Cur, Mountain View Cur, and Parnell's Carolina Cur among others.

In this article, we will discover some fun and interesting facts about Mountain Cur dogs. If you like this article, check out Frug and German Shepherd Wolf Mix facts too.
