Billie Joe Armstrong is one of the biggest names in the punk rock music genre. His career goes beyond Green Day as he has been a part of various side projects. He also created the label named Adeline records with his wife, Adrienne.

As a songwriter and member of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong became one of the most influential people in the punk rock music genre. It is very common knowledge that his career is not limited to Green Day only.

In the year 2015, after many hits, the band Green Day was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The band’s first concert was in the restaurant where Billie's mother Ollie worked. His mother was able to get them this first gig as she worked there as a waitress. Around 30 friends gathered at Rod’s Hickory Pit in El Cerrito to see Green Day work their magic for the first time ever.

Billie’s struggles came to light on September 21, 2012. During one of their concerts at a music radio festival held in Las Vegas, Armstrong was supposedly agitated on the stage and even halted the band's performance in the middle. They had been performing their extremely popular song, 'Basket Casket.'

After the incident, Armstrong had stated that he had reacted that way because their performance had been cut short by the promoters of the event.

Armstrong not only stopped performing but had also smashed his guitar before he stormed off the stage. After the incident, the band had issued a statement that the promoters were not at fault and that performance hadn't been cut off.

This happened just four days before their new album was set to be released. This album was the band’s ninth one. A couple of days later, it was revealed that Billie Armstrong had been seeking treatment for a medical issue. The exact issue wasn’t specified in the statement.

A series of cancellations of scheduled interviews followed after this happened. Claudia Wright, the ex-wife of Tre Cool, revealed that Armstrong before the Las Vegas concert had been drinking alcohol heavily after being sober for a whole year.
