If you are a St Louis Cardinals fan, you know how important the New Busch Stadium has been for the team.

Busch Stadium is also called the New Busch Stadium or Busch Stadium III. It opened on April 4, 2006, with an exhibition game between Memphis Redbirds and Springfield Cardinals.

The first game in the official major league circuit in the new stadium was against Milwaukee Brewers. St Louis Cardinals defeated Brewers in the first game 6-4.

Mark Mulder was the winning pitcher, while Albert Pujols hit a home run. Busch Stadium is the third one in St Louis with the same name as Sportsman's Park was renamed Busch Stadium in 1953. It closed in 1966.

Busch Stadium II, or Busch Memorial Stadium, was the home for both the NFL team and the baseball Cardinals. This stadium was renovated to make the New Busch Stadium.

  • On Mother's Day on May 12, 2019, the biggest baseball game attendance in the Busch Stadium occurred. There were 48,556 fans in the stadium for the match between the St Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  • In its first season in 2006, the new Busch Stadium saw the St Louis Cardinals host the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series Games 3 and 4.
  • Game 3 saw San Diego beat St Louis Cardinals 3-1. In Game 4, St Louis Cardinals beat San Diego 6-2 and won the National League Division Series.
  • There have been many famous baseball events in the stadium. The St Louis Cardinals hosted the New York Mets in the 2006 National League Championship Series in Games 3, 4, and 5. The Cardinals won their 17th National League pennant with this series.
  • St Louis Cardinals also went up against Detroit Tigers in the 2006 World Series. It was their first meeting in 38 years and was a spectacle to watch.

  • There is an iconic entrance through Gate 3, which is located on the west side of the Busch Stadium. There is a bridge that resembles the infamous Eads Bridge over the entrance.
  • You will find plaques of the STL insignia, Cardinals logos, and a Busch Stadium logo behind the home plate.
  • LED floodlights are installed with light-show capabilities. There is also the construction of the Budweiser Terrace located in the right field upper deck.
  • There is a multi-level general admission standing room on the terrace with a BBQ outlet, two full bars, social areas in the concourse, and a staging area for pre and in-game entertainment.

  • There is a 'Fredbird' store at the stadium's center field across from Ballpark Village. It is a make-your-own-mascot store.
  • The cost to make the Ballpark Village and the main stadium was around $665 million. In fact, the new Busch Stadium itself cost about $365 million.
  • The brand new addition to the new Busch Stadium is the Ballpark village, located where the old Busch Stadium was. The village has inside the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame Museum and Cardinal Nation Restaurant. This is a three-story, 30,000-sq ft (2,787 sq m) building.
  • The old stadium had the natural grass replaced by Astroturf. But with the new ownership, the stadium was given natural grass again in 2006.
