Based in Chicago, Illinois, the Chicago Cubs are an American professional baseball team that plays in the MLB, or Major League Baseball.

The Chicago Cubs is a member club of the National League (NL) Central Division. The home games of the Chicago Cubs are played at Wrigley Field, which is located on the North Side of the city.

Chicago has only two major league teams, and the Chicago Cubs is one of them. The other team is the Chicago White Sox that is actually a member of the American League (AL) Central Division.

The Chicago Cubs were earlier known as the White Stockings and the team was a founding member of the National League (NL) in 1876. The team became the Chicago Cubs in 1903.

The Chicago Cubs have appeared in eleven World Series. Additionally, the Chicago Cubs of 1906 had a brilliant season, winning 116 games and finishing 116–36.

The team posted a modern-era record winning percentage of 0.763. However, the Chicago Cubs lost the World Series to the Chicago White Sox by four games to two.

In 1907 and 1908, the Chicago Cubs won back-to-back World Series Championships. The team became the first major league team to appear in three consecutive World Series and the first team to win it two times.
