The Uberabatitan ribeiroi, a new titanosaur, is a splendid species of dinosaurs that lived on this planet in the Marília formation. The specimen of this species belongs to the Chordata phylum and is also assumed to be related to the titanosaur from the Marília. Later they were assumed to be very different from titanosaurs as these vertebrae dinosaurs lived in the Jurassic epoch and also at the end of the Cretaceous period. Nonetheless, both the vertebra are quite similar and their fossil remains speak of that. Both species were assigned the same genus and later on it was also found that a new titanosaur, the Uberabatitan ribeiroi, lived in the minas Gerais Brazil and the first specimen of these vertebrae was found by de Souza. The new titanosaur was considered to be from the bauru group upper Cretaceous or the Marília formation Bauru group like another titanosaur. The first specimen, which was found by Brazil paleontology, led to the revelation that only one specimen all across the world has now come to be seen in the public eyes. The analysis and record or even the slightest of reference of this speak a lot about this late Cretaceous titanosaur. Various researchers such as Salgado and Carvalho described plenty about their behavior and their terrestrial habitat, which can be a tough task given only one species of this ubera titan was discovered by the Carvalho 2008 formation. Brazil palaeontology 51's discovery of the body material revealed many references such as the dinosaur's age, the locality it lived in, and how large the Sauropoda body size could get. The study by A.G Martinelli, de Souza and Carvalho also helped in the classification of these vertebrae. The formation and discovery of the formation Bauru group upper led to the revealing of the ribeiroi, a new titanosaur. The upper cretaceous Minas Gerais and Minas Gerais Brazil along with the formation Bauru group upper is a geological group of the Bauru sub-basin. The Uberabatitan ribeiroi and many such sauropods of the Uberaba genus are found here. When the vertebra was found on the group upper cretaceous minas, they were pronounced as Uberaba-titan.
The Uberabatitan ribeiroi is known by the following name as it was found in the Cretaceous minas Gerais Brazil and was studied by Brazilian paleontology 51 by Salgado and Carvalho. Thus, its entire name is dedicated to the place it was found back in 2008 as per the publication date on some partial basis. The other half of its name comes from its class Sauropoda. These Sauropoda were last assumed to live in the Maastrichtian age.
Due to the help of recent studies done on this Sauropoda, it's possible to assume that Uberabatitan ribeiroi and other such vertebra and several other titanosaurs walked on this Earth during the Maastrichtian age and the Cretaceous period. Now only fossil remains and genetic material such as bones of these dinosaurs, including others who lived in that time, are found on the lower and upper cretaceous Minas Gerais.
Like many other dinosaurs and sauropods, the Uberabatitan ribeiroi became extinct after the Maastrichtian age due to unfavorable living conditions on Earth which was the result of asteroid collisions and other natural disasters.
From the discovered Uberabatitan fossil it can be assumed and traced back to those days where these dinosaurs may have lived. This type of Sauropoda inhabited South America and also regions of Brazil such as the Cretaceous Minas Gerais Brazil, the upper Cretaceous Minas Gerais and which eventually led to the formation Bauru group upper. The Bauru group upper Cretaceous helped scientists discover many fossils and specimens. Researchers such as Salgado, Carvalho, and de Souza believed that this new titanosaur with the name Uberabatitan lived here.
The Carvalho 2008 research revealed that this new titanosaur with the name Uberabatitan is a herbivore and an ideal uberabatitan habitat would be terrestrial regions.
The last specimen of this genus which was discovered in the Uberaba region may have lived with other vertebrae and titanosaurs. The late Cretaceous titanosaur lived with Tyrannosaurus rex, and the current day owls and sparrows share some family lineage with these meat-eating dinosaurs classification. Their origin can be traced back to theropods in the end.
Sauropods believed to have lived for around 100-200 years, when drawn a comparison between them and turtles and crocodiles. However, these comparisons were strictly partial based on their size. Many dinosaurs from the Bauru group upper Cretaceous Minas Gerais Brazil like the Uberabatitan ribeiroi from the Uberaba region and the Trigonosaurus were quadrupedal and were also known to be larger in size than most dinosaurs based on studies of researchers such as Martinelli. This Uberabatitan ribeiroi only lived for 70-80 years as described by Carvalho, Salgado, and record-based analysis.
References and record studies by Salgado, de Souza and Carvalho 2008 on their fossil and living behavior indicated that they laid two eggs and reproduced like any other reptile of today's age.
This species is known for long bones in its neck, back, and tail along with its pelvic bones. It had large black spots on its back and its underparts were mostly in a single color: they were brownish yellow in color. Not much is known except this about their looks.
Not much is known about this; however, the Uberabatitan was four times larger in size than any other herbivore.
The ribeiroi, a new titanosaur from the group upper Cretaceous Minas, communicated through vocal sounds and visual interpretations.
This vertebra was twice as big as whale sharks and thrice as big as an Asian elephant.
The ribeiroi, a new titanosaur from the Marília formation Bauru group, was very heavy and it's possible that its weight slowed down its speed.
Let's trace back to the date where this type of vertebra lived on Earth, meaning the Maastrichtian times. In those times this titanosaur from the Marília weighed around 16,000-20,000 lb (8-10 ton).
According to the known study on these vertebrae from 2008, the two sexes are not addressed with a different name.
Baby Uberabatitans or babies of vertebrae were called hatchlings, just like babies of any other reptile.
The Uberabatitan diet was strictly herbivorous and they would only feed on plants and leaves or fruits.
As described by Carvalho, Salgado, and de Souza, the study of this vertebra by Carvalho 2008 indicated they were not aggressive like other vertebrae in their locality.
This vertebra existed 60-77 million years ago.
The Titanosaur from the Marília got its name due to its habitat as per pieces of information that come from many references. The Uberabatitan size did not play any role in its naming. Its recent habitat, including the Uberaba, is known to be behind the name of these vertebrae.
The locality of the Uberabatitan ribeiroi was terrestrial and covered regions such as the Bauru group upper Cretaceous Minas Gerais Brazil and led to the formation of the geological group Marília Formation.
