Hindi is the official language of India.

It is an old language. It is derived from Sanskrit.

Hindi is the fourth most spoken language in the world. Spoken in four countries, and by 615.5 million people, it ranks among the five most spoken languages in the world.

Hindi words are derived from the medieval language Devanagri. September 14 is Hindi day (also called Hindi Divas).
