What happened with the Viking god Odin and the tree he hung from?

The self-sacrifice of god Odin that left him with one eye is a famous story in Norse mythology. What happened to God in that sacrifice?

It all started with Odin looking at the world from his throne Hlidskjalf. He wanted to know everything, even the things that are hidden. Away he went to the well of Urur to sacrifice himself.

He sacrificed his eye in the well and threw his spear upon himself. He threw himself on the spear in a way of a symbolic suicide ritual. There was an ash tree of life known as Yggdrasil.

Odin hanged himself in this tree of life for nine days and nine nights. The tree is symbolic of the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Odin hanged himself in the tree and received visions that taught him the knowledge about the universe, the seen, and the unseen.

God Odin came back to his kingdom with one eye after that. Odin was killed by the giant wolf Fenrir. The whole glory of the Norse pantheon would end with the death of Odin.
