'A League Of Their Own' is a popular baseball film.

'A League Of Their Own' is an American sports comedy film.

It was released on 1 July 1992. The movie was directed by Penny Marshall and the production was carried out by Elliot Abbott and Robert Greenhut.

The story of 'A League Of Their Own' is based on the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) in real life. It is a fictionalized account of the league.

Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel wrote the screenplay for the movie. The characters in the movie included Jimmy Dugan, Dorothy Dottie Hinson, Kit Keller, Mae Mordabito, Doris Murphy, Helen Haley, Ellen Sue Gotlander, Marla Hooch, Evelyn Gardner, Shirley Baker, and others.

The cast of 'A League Of Their Own' includes Geena Davis (Dottie Hinson), Tom Hanks (Jimmy Dugan), Madonna (Mae Mordabito), Lori Petty (Kit Keller), and Rosie O'Donnell (Doris Murphy). The story is set in 1988 when Dottie Hinson attends the opening of the AAGPBL.

She starts getting flashbacks of 1943 when World War II threatened to shut down Major League Baseball. Walter Harvey persuades his fellow players to start a women’s league. Ira Lowenstein is put in charge of the women’s league, and she sends Ernie Capadino to recruit players.

Capadino is impressed by Dottie’s game, however, Dottie Hinson is not interested in playing. Kit, Dottie Hinson’s sister, wants to play and somehow convinces her sister to play too.

Kit and Dottie Hinson leave for Harvey Field in Chicago and meet Mae Mordabito, Shirley Baker, Ellen Sue Gotlander, Betty "Spaghetti" Horn, Marla Hooch Evelyn Gardner, Doris Murphy, Helen Haley, and Alice "Skeeter" Gaspers there. All of them are selected to form the Rockford Peaches, managed by Jimmy Dugan.

The league does not attract much fame and publicity in the beginning. However, in  time, publicity campaigns lead to increasing fame for the game and more people are drawn to the ballgames.

The teammates of the Rockford Peaches develop a strong sisterhood among them off the field. A series of events take place and later Dottie Hinson leaves with her husband, Bob.

The flashback ends here and Dottie Hinson is brought to the present, where she is reunited with many players, including Kit. The story reveals that Jimmy Dugan, Evelyn, and Bob have died now.

Marla and Nelson have been married for more than 40 years, Kit has become a mother and a grandmother while Mae Mordabito and Doris Murphy are still best friends. In the end, the teammates of the Rockford Peaches pose for a group photo while singing Evelyn’s team song in a beautiful end to the film.
