He is mentioned in every religious book. He was the leader of the Israelites.

When Jacob and Joseph were prophets, the people settled in the Land of Goshen. There was a new Pharoah appointed.

This Pharoah used to oppress the people of Israel. The father of Moses was Amram and the mother of Moses was Jochebed. His father Amram was the descendent of Kohath.

He was a Levite who came with the house of Jacob and entered Egypt. Moses was born in a time when the people of his tribe were enslaved. The Pharoah ordered to kill all the sons so that the community would not become strong.

Moses grew up with the Egyptian royal family when his mother put him in the river Nile for the fear that he would be killed. Moses fled Egypt after killing an Egyptian slave master.

At the mountain of God, he spoke to the Lord, where he was ordered to return back to Egypt. God appointed the older brother of Moses, Aaron as his spokesperson, as he was not able to speak properly.
