The Gundam franchise that was created as an anime but has since branched off into many different areas.
In the early stages, it was initially created for young boys but now it's beloved by people of all genders and ages. Did you know: the name is a combination of words, 'Gun' and 'dom' from the last letters of the word freedom, but was later changed to 'dam'.
The series is about a giant robotic mobile suit which is operated by humans. The Gundam suit has the cockpit in the torso of the mobile suit as opposed to the head like generic suits.
In this anime, the strongest and the best Gundam is the Turn A Gundam. The franchise has produced and sold a lot of merchandise such as toys and Gunpla.
It is one of the highest-grossing franchises ever, currently having different mediums from comics to mangas, to cartoons, and so on. If you are new to the series this is a great way to catch up on the main characters without getting confused.
