The kids will have a fun time learning from these free printable gorilla banging on its chest coloring pages. Gorillas are ground-dwelling herbivorous apes, majorly found in the forests of the central Sub Saharan region of Africa. As living primates, their DNA is similar to that of humans and, thus, the closest living relative of humans after chimpanzee and bonobos. As non-human primates, they are the largest in size. They reach around 1.25 to 1.8 meters of height and weigh around anything between a hundred to two seventy kilograms. Gorillas are known for their peculiar habit of beating and banging their chest. They usually do it when either they win a fight or when they have to attract the female counterpart. Chest beating shows the others how strong they are. They also beat their chest when they are in the mood to play or challenge each other or boast. Since they have hollow space in the chest, the sound is amplified to be heard from a kilometer range. Did you know? A gorilla has been seen beside a baby, being his best friend and protector in many people’s favorite movie, ‘Baby’s Day Out’.
