In this free printable realistic orca coloring pages resource, you will find a drawing of a realistic orca with some interesting facts to educate kids. Orcas or killer whales are the largest dolphins in the world. They gained the name 'killer' because they feed on other whales. Like all whales, they come to the surface of the water to breathe air. Orcas thrive in all the oceans of the world. They are found in cold waters near the coastline and warm, tropical waters too. The top of killer whales is black, whereas they are while on the bottom. Also, they all have a white patch behind both eyes. Some killer whales have a light-colored spot behind the dorsal fin. Male killer whales can reach a height of up to 26 ft (8 m) and a weight of up to 11023 lb (5000 kg). Alternatively, female orcas are shorter than males and also weigh less. There is a blowhole on the top of the head, through which killer whales breathe. Did you know? Orcas are on the top of the oceanic food chain. Therefore, they do not have any natural predators.
