There are so many different variations of slime using all sorts of different ingredients and we’re sharing with you a fluffy cloud slime recipe that the kids will love.

The ingredients we’re using to make this fluffy cloud slime are all readily available in shops or online and hopefully you’ll already have a few of them in your cupboards at home.

Before we start, let’s run through some of our top tips to help minimise the mess and help make it an enjoyable experience for everyone!

Kidadl’s Top Tips For Making Slime

Let’s start by preparing your slime making factory! We suggest using a wipeable tablecloth to protect your table.

Measure your ingredients into plastic pots or bowls beforehand to save lots of faffing around.

Slime has the tendency of getting everywhere so make sure the kids are wearing old clothes that you don’t mind getting ruined as it’s not always the easiest to wash off!

Fluffy Cloud Slime Ingredients:

230ml of white PVA glue, body lotion, foaming hand soap, gel food colouring in your chosen colour, contact lens solution, bicarbonate of soda and some instant snow.

How To Make The Best Fluffy Cloud Slime:

Step 1.

In a large bowl pour in the PVA glue then add five pumps of body lotion and eight pumps of foaming hand wash. Mix with a plastic spatula for a few minutes until the ingredients have combined.

Step 2.

Squirt in a small amount of gel food colouring and give the mixture a good stir, continue to add food colouring until you’ve reached your desired slime colour. Next, add a couple of squirts of contact lens solution which will work as your slime activator with a pinch of bicarbonate of soda.

Continue to mix the slime with the spatula until it starts to come away from the sides of the bowl.

*If your slime is still very sticky at this point then squirt in some more contact lens solution and another pinch of bicarbonate of soda.

Continue to stir your slime using the spatula and stirring from the bottom of the bowl upwards to make sure the activator combines and until the slime easily comes away from the bowl.

Step 3.

Take your slime out of the bowl and pull and stretch the slime in your hands for a couple of minutes.

*If your slime is still quite watery and thin then you can make your slime thicker by adding a little more of the contact lens solution and the tiniest pinch of bicarbonate of soda.

Step 4.

Pour two heaped tablespoons of instant snow into a bowl and add one teaspoon of water and mix it together.

Place your slime onto the table and sprinkle your instant snow mix over your slime and then gently knead it together with your hands. Pick the slime up and gently pull and stretch it with your fingers until all of the instant snow has absorbed and there are no clumps.

Dip your slime into any excess snow on the table and then continue to pull and stretch the slime until you are happy with the texture.

Your fluffy cloud slime is complete and ready for hours of satisfying slime fun!
