Robin Hood is a legendary heroic outlaw living in the Sherwood forest.

He is originally depicted in English folklore. He was subsequently featured in a number of stories, movies and animated films.

Considered one of the best-known tales of English folklore, though not technically real, Robin Hood is described as a highly-skilled swordsman and archer. He is described as a crusader who steals from the rich and gives to the poor, for this reason he is considered a hero. Many popular characters are associated with him such as his lover, Lady Marian, his band of men, the Merry Men, and his arch-nemesis, the Sheriff of Nottingham. The central idea that the character operates on is the theme of social and economic justice in a society riddled with inequality, the moral lesson of Robin Hood is one of fairness.
