'The Addams Family' consists of characters from a family that are rather strange and unusual. Their names are Gomez Addams, Morticia Addams, Wednesday Addams, Pugsley Addams, Uncle Fester, Grandmama, The Thing, and Cousin Itt. Wednesday Addams was seven years old in the first film and is believed to be 18 now. She’s intelligent, forbidding, sadistic, solemn, and something of a psychopath. As far as her skills go, we see that she’s a natural leader and extremely comfortable handling weapons. She seldom shows her emotions and is generally bitter.
In the 1991 film, she is depicted in a darker fashion. She shows sadistic tendencies and a dark personality and is revealed to have a deep interest in the Bermuda Triangle and an admiration for an ancestor (Great Aunt Calpurnia Addams) who was burned as a witch in 1706.
In the 2019 animated version of the same title, Wednesday retains her emotionless nature and sadistic tendencies. However, she's also bored with her macabre and sheltered life, wanting to see the world despite Morticia's objections.
She got her name from a phrase taken from a nursery rhyme from 1838, entitled Monday's Child - 'Wednesday's child is full of woe'.
Wednesday completely embraces herself with all her quirks. She is clearly a misfit but she has accepted herself as she is.
Wednesday has a strong sense of self and clear values. The world through her eyes makes sense to her and she is ready to fight to keep it safe.
Wednesday has a strong sense of family values in all adaptations.
