The World Day of Peace is celebrated all across the globe, where people pledge to work for a peaceful society and law and order.
People, peace lovers all across the globe, join their hands for the betterment of the world and mark an end to intolerance and violence in the world.
The World Day of Peace first started in 1968, after the idea was proposed in 1967.
In 1967, it was Pope Paul VI who urged the world to commit to peace and understanding and observe the first of January every year as the World Day of Peace.
The theme of this day is to establish a culture of care all over the world. The sub-themes keep changing every year.
The Vatican Church, headed by the Pope, emphasizes the need to develop affection, care, and tolerance for each other. On this feast day, authoritative declarations on the Catholic Social Teachings (CST) are imparted by Catholic bishops and Popes all over the world.
On the International Day of Peace day, let your new year's resolution be to raise your voice against intolerance and violence. Pledge to stand by peace and let this not fail and fade from the world.
Whenever you pray, pray for a peaceful world and harmony for these millions who are deprived of justice and clutched under nails of violence and deprivation.
Inculcate the values of peace to young ones and friends. Impart the values of all religious traditions and their essence to spread peace for global solidarity.
On Peace Day, we can make resolutions, pledges, and prayers to commit to peace-building and global solidarity.
World Peace Day is celebrated to build a peaceful and sustainable world.
World Peace Day 2021's theme was ‘Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world’.
The first Peace Day was observed in 1968.
Peace Day was founded by Pope Paul VI.
Peace is important to mark an end to atrocities and violence carried in the name of nationality, religion, and so on and to usher into an era of non-violence and solidarity between people and nation-states.
Peace can be achieved when each individual in this world gives up their mind to pursue conflicts and violence as a solution for every problem. Collective efforts like campaigns and organizations driven by a motive to establish peace help achieve it.
