Anfield Stadium is home to Liverpool Football Club and is one of the world’s most historic and iconic stadiums. In fact, it’s  one of the few football stadiums known the world over by name alone.

The stadium was built in 1884 and it was originally the home of Everton, Liverpool’s bitter local rivals. But luckily for Liverpool FC, Everton moved to Goodison Park in 1891 due to a rent dispute.

The seventh largest football stadium in England, the Anfield stadium capacity is a whooping 54,074. The ground itself contains four stands: the main stand, the Kop, the centenary stand and Anfield Road End.

The Kop is the most well-known stand at Anfield amongst home and away supporters. Built in 1906, the Kop could hold 30,000 spectators standing at its peak. Today it holds just under 12,500 spectators seated.

If you and your mini footie fans have always dreamt of visiting Liverpool FC’s home stadium, now you can go behind the scenes on an unforgettable Anfield Stadium Tour. See different areas of the stadium, from the home and away dressing room to the press room.

Fans of Steven Gerrard? The former captain has donated his collection of football memorabilia to the Steven Gerrard Collection exhibition for his supporters to enjoy.

You’ll get to see his Liverpool and England shirts, awards, medals and trophies, plus much more. Check out the brilliant The Liverpool FC Story Museum, where you’ll discover over 125 years of Liverpool football history. You'll also get to feast your eyes on the six European cups!

Anfield Stadium is worth a visit for anyone visiting the city of Liverpool, not just on match days. Simply the best day out for any Liverpool fan! If you and your kids love everything about the game, check out the Emirates Stadium, the home of Arsenal in Holloway, London.
