One of the best ways to keep a bored kid engaged with fun activities is to give them this free printable deer head coloring pages to color. There are about 43 deer species around the world except in Antarctica and Australia.

Only reindeer species live with human beings. Otherwise, most survive in the wild.

Some species are on the list of endangered animals, such as red deer, blackbuck, Eld's deer, Indian hog deer, chital, and many more. Most deer species possess antlers except reindeer, in which only the males have them.

These animals rely little on coarse-fibred grass and more on woody shoots, aquatic plants, fruit, foliage, lichens, buds, and young grasses. Deer habitats can be found in grasslands, deserts, and geologically old landscapes leached of nutrients.

They are the prey to lions, tigers, hyenas, and crocodiles. It is believed that spotting a white deer can be a bad omen, and a deer crossing your path on your way is also believed to be a bad sign by some cultures and people.

Did you know? Fawns (children of deer) don't have any detectable smell, so they can easily hide from their predators.
