During summer, their coat is of reddish brown in appearance, while it turns grayish brown in winter. It has white spots across the body and has the habit of raising its tail as soon as it is alarmed.

Whitetail deer weigh around 150-300 lb (68-136 kg), and can also reach to 396.8 lb (180 kg) in some cases. They are herbivores, and play a great role in the ecosystem, since their predators feed on them.
