One of the world's most exciting sporting events starts on Monday 1st July, so it's time to get inspired. Since its first event almost 145 years ago, Wimbledon has taught us year on year the importance of being active, healthy, and strong.

It looks like the sun's going to be out over the next two weeks, so we thought we'd share with you some fun and exciting alternative sports activities to get you and your family out of the house and moving!

1. Challenge your family to a game of FUN Golf

FUN Golf at the Golf Kingdom is an entertaining activity with an unexpected twist; suitable for every member of your family, no matter your sporting ability. Warm up as you hit tennis-style balls against a giant inflatable target zone, before heading on to play some holes on the FUN Golf course.

This is a great (and slightly ridiculous!) activity for the whole family that is guaranteed to have you laughing throughout.

2. If you love London this cycling tour is for you

Start your afternoon with the relaxing Love London Bike Tour of the West End, where you will have the chance to explore the city's most significant cultural, artistic, and theatrical sights on two wheels.

Your first stop will be Archbishop's Park, home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, followed by the hidden quarters of Westminster Abbey School.

From there, you will head further into the city, stopping at Horse Guards Parade and Hyde Park; both frequented by King Henry VIII himself all those years ago. As you arrive in central London you'll make your way through the luxurious streets of Mayfair, along retro Carnaby Street and eccentric Soho, followed by the home of theater, Covent Garden.

Your final stop will be Waterloo Bridge, where you'll get some incredible views of the city - don't forget to take advantage of all the photo opportunities!

With tours taking place daily, there's no excuse not to try it out.

3. Race for a good cause

Sign up for the 10th annual RBC Race for the Kids and you can help poor children and their families at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

This brilliant 5k run has raised more than £5 million over the past decade, making a difference to and changing the lives of hundreds of families. This year, their goal is to raise a whopping £1 million!

Whether you jog, walk, wheel or scoot, it's up to you, it really is the taking part that counts.

The run will be the perfect day out for all ages and abilities while making a real impact on real lives. It takes place on 12th October 2019 and to celebrate a decade of dedicated runners, this year kids can take part for free.

When you sign up, you'll receive a full race pack including a t-shirt, and on the day of the race, children will receive a medal and a goody bag for their incredible contribution.

4. Get active with some laser tag

Family exercise just got more fun! At Zap Combat Centre you will experience laser combat like never before.

You can expect a combination of real-life video gaming, exercises, fresh air, and plenty of fun in the 40-acre venue in Broxbourne. Children will be fully accommodated with the latest laser equipment with excellent accuracy and range to catch their opponents.

Each 2-hour session is filled with four different exciting missions and breathtaking scenarios, and, unlike in their video games, kids will have unlimited ammunition and lives.

5. Go crazy with mini golf

Even the most skilled golfers will be challenged by this 9-hole course at Plonk Mini Golf in Camden Market. Get crazy in a neon dream world with UV lights, balancing beams, ramps, and of course the Plonk Mini Golf pinball machine.

Both grown-ups and kids need to bring their a-game in this fun family activity. You can also head to the first floor of the venue, where you will find amazing arcade machines, foosball tables, board games, and puzzles for those who prefer their fun a little more laid-back.

6. Take a walk across London following Paddington Bear's paw prints

Explore London in this 2.5-hour walking tour guided by Paddington himself. Visit some of London's most beautiful neighborhoods and sites which have featured in more than 20 books by the much-loved Michael Bond.

You will also have the chance to explore several film locations and discover how the movies were made. Starting your journey at Paddington Station, you will walk around areas such as Little Venice, Maida Vale, and Notting Hill and finish at Portobello Road. Book your tickets today and Paddington will be waiting for you!

7. Keep fit while you and your tots flip out at Mini Flippers

Mini Flippers is the perfect opportunity for mini humans under 5 and parents to crawl, flip and bounce from wall-to-wall trampolines and foam landing pits. Your toddler will not only have endless bouncy fun but will also develop balance and coordination.

Roll your day away at the Flip Out Trampoline park in Brent Cross and book your tickets through Kidadl to get 20% off!

8. Get a kick out of FootGolf

Put on your trainers and hop on the trend of the fastest-growing sports in the UK. In Football Golf (known as FootGolf for short) players have to score a football into a golf-style hole in as few shots as possible.

The winner will be the person who gets around an 18-hole in the fewest shots. Grab your mates or family and head to the Golf Kingdom, one of the only bespoke-built courses specifically for the game.

Will you be Britain's next master FootGolfer? Bring it on and prepare for a day full of laughter and action.

9. Paint the town red (literally) with a game of Splatmaster Paintball

Load your guns and prepare for an epic adventure in Greenwich! Splatmaster Paintball is a new activity in the UK that provides a fun low impact alternative to paintball for young soldiers over 8 years of age.

This experience uses low-velocity paintball guns that fire extremely fragile paintballs and is engineered so kids can easily load and fire.

Bedlam Splatmaster Paintballing is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to gear up with the latest equipment and battle out to save the world in a fun and safe environment. Test your combat abilities and find out if you can save the day.

10. Tee up for a golf adventure with Moby Dick

The whole family will have a whale of a time at Moby Golf, the UK's largest adventure golf course. Have a blast by following the course along a 60-meter lagoon, and an 8-meter waterfall, and put the ball through the mouth of the legendary whale Moby Dick.

This 18-hole adventure is the perfect family activity as you bump into creatures and shipwrecks of the sea, but be sure to watch out for the angry Captain in the cave! Book your family tickets through Kidadl and save 46%.
