Gobipteryx is a genus from the Late Cretaceous period. Along with skulls and other fossilized bones, paleontologists have been able to discover embryonic fossils, which help us know about the evolution of the species.
The first specimens were found during the Polish-Mongolian Paleontological Expedition led by Dr Teresa Maryańska in 1971. And, in 1994, further expeditions were done to uncover fossils which led to its classification as a part of the enantiornithes.
