Hexinlusaurus was a small herbivorous ornithischian dinosaur found in Asia during the Middle Jurassic period. One fossil of this species was found in China and This animal was initially classified as a species related to Yandusaurus but the classification was later changed as a new genus.

The discovery of this new species was mentioned in the journal of Chengdu college of geology which is now known as the Chengdu University and this genus has also been explained in the journal of Vertebrate paleontology.
