Kids will love these free printable badger coloring pages. These medium-sized furry animals belong to the family of Mustelidae.

Primarily, a badger’s diet consists of earthworms. Badgers are fossorial, which means that they create underground dens. The name Badger has been derived from the French word ‘becheur’, which means ‘digger’ in French.

Badgers have a very powerful sense of smell and they can smell an animal through the mud. They are nocturnal, which means they are found sleeping the entire day and are active at night.

In winters, they don’t go to hibernation but rather become less active as compared to summers. Badger’s have a third eyelid which protects them from dust when they dig holes in the ground.

These helpful sheets can also be used to learn more about badgers, offering the kids a chance to get familiar with their appearance while you tell them facts!

Did you know? Badgers are the national animal in the state of Wisconsin.
