Why Shrek Quotes?

Shrek is DreamWorks's animated movie, released in 2001. The film is based on a book named 'Shrek' written by William Steig.

The story revolves around an introverted and provincial ogre, Shrek's mission to rescue the fierce Princess Fiona with his friend Donkey. It also involves winning swamp's contract by scheming 'Lord Farquaad.' This family film includes a lot of adventure and humor.

The fairytale-themed story became famous worldwide, and everyone loved the title character, Shrek, the ogre. Kids and adults enjoyed this movie, which can be said to be a metaphor for beauty being on the inside, and as Shrek says himself, he is like "an onion" with "many layers". For young viewers, the movie revolves around friendship and loyalty.

But for adults, it is about real-world race relations. These Shrek quotes show that you can be a better person without being moralizing.

What Parents Should Know?

The movie describes the phrase, 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder' very well. Fiona is confused and ashamed to remain an ogre. But Shrek calms her down by saying she is the most beautiful person he has ever seen.

Shrek shows that inner beauty is more essential than outer skin. He loved Fiona in both her human and ogre form.

Shrek and his friendship with the donkey showed that people worth knowing do not care that you are different. Donkey's friendship also leaves a positive impact on Shrek's life.

What To Discuss With Kids?

Shrek, Donkey, and Monsieur Hood were surprised by Fiona's kung-fu moves. This scene represents that you should never judge a person from his outer self.

Lord Farquaad's destiny in the movie shows that being mean to others will not get you anywhere.

When Shrek says about ogres having layers like onions, it represents that sometimes it is best to give the person some time to reveal his layers and become comfortable enough to express himself fully.

Shrek can be looked at as a metaphor for racism in America.
