Brent Cross shopping centre is found in Hendon, and offers families a wide variety of activities, making it one of the best things to do in North London with kids. While adults can enjoy some shopping, the kids don't have to get bored but can engage in creative play, make friends and have fun. 

With plenty of shops like Primark, Pull and Bear, Zara and more, Brent Cross is a great place to do your shopping and make it a family day out.

Plus a variety of food options such as Nandos, Leon, Shake-shack, Costa, Pizza Express and so much more, there's a great variety of healthy food options, snacks, comfort food and chains.

There's something for everyone when it's time for a break from shopping.

Open from 10am to 8pm, Brent Cross shopping centre doesn't just offer shops, food, and a beach, but also trampolining! Flip Out has a trick park, Lazer Maze Room and Ninja Skills Centre, offering the best high-flying fun a kid can ask for.

There is a dedicated area for under 5's, plus Mini Flipper sessions that run throughout the week for toddler and parents.

Are you looking for family activities to do during the school holidays? Check out the Kids Club that Brent Cross runs throughout the holidays offering crafts, to quizzes, to games- there's plenty to keep your little ones entertained.

Be sure to check out Play 9, an installation of an interactive Double-Sided Kidszone Classic and Tabletop, a soft play area bringing back the heritage of the caterpillar and turtle through creative play, nestled in between shops, perfect for a little break.

Topsy Turvy World is a members-only indoor play centre, it' a perfect party venue and located just behind Brent Cross shopping Centre, it's for children under 12 years old with accompanying adults. There is an area for three and under, which is a separate play area.

The main multi-tiered play frame is full of thrilling adventure and exciting play; it's all padded for safety and has three fun and challenging slides.

You can even leave Brent Cross with your own personal designed bears at Build a Bear, and they also host birthday parties, so whether you're popping in, or making a day of it, Brent Cross has you covered for family fun.

What to know before you go

  • There is a family room in Brent Cross by the food court on level 3 which can offer a time out, a chance to rest and re-energise.
  • There are baby changing rooms available in Mall 5 which is by the food courts, and some which are located on Level 3 in John Lewis. Plus, there are changing mats in both the male and female Centre Court toilets.
  • As Brent Cross is a shopping centre and a great family-friendly one at that, you'll probably have more trouble deciding where to go. Boasting over 25 restaurants and cafés in the centre, most places are perfect for families and will provide high chairs. Plus, bottle warming facilities are available in John Lewis, and many restaurants in the food court offer this too. There is a shake-shack that kids always love, frozen yoghurt, Nandos, Pret, and so many more places that are always a hit with kids.
  • There is a Multi-faith Prayer and Quiet Room, situated just opposite Shopmobility, near the Multi-Storey Car Park. This is a place open to all customers of Brent Cross. You can collect a room key from Shopmobility.
  • Brent Cross has a Shopmobility service which provides a range of wheelchairs and motorised scooters, and that can be loaned for free, making getting around the centre that bit easier. It's available for anyone who needs help with mobility – young or old, whether the disability or injury is temporary or permanent.
  • There is lift access to all shopping malls within Brent Cross for visitors and accessible toilets available.
  • There is a Hearing Loop at both the Reception and Customer Service Desk.

Getting there

  • You can reach Brent Cross via the Tube, on the Northern line (Edgware Branch) to Brent Cross Station.
  • You can reach Brent Cross via the following bus routes: 102 - 112 - 142 - 143 - 182 - 186 - 189 - 210 - 232 - 266 - 324 - 326 - 611 - 643 - C11 - N266.
  • There are plenty of free car parking spaces, in the multi-storey car park, the Fenwicks Car park and the John Lewis car park. There are over 200 car parking spaces for visitors with disabilities; there are over 90 family spaces, car washing facilities, shop mobility, and electric vehicle charging facilities. Brent Cross is the only shopping centre offering free parking all year round.
  • Located outside, John Lewis is a dedicated parent and child parking site. There are 90 family parking spaces in the upper John Lewis car park, situated right in front of service area Z and by the memorial park. There are parent and child parking on all levels of the multi-storey car park located at the back of the food court.
  • You can get personalised directions on how to reach Brent Cross via their website, whether you're driving, taking the bus, Tube or cycling.
